About me:

Born in Devon in 1948, I arrived with my family in Cornwall at the tender age of 2 weeks.
I was drawing on everything as soon as I could hold a pencil. This included walls, much to the despair of my mother! However I was allowed one wall in my bedroom where I could truly express myself with any choice of medium.
This would probably explain my love of large canvases. I still find great difficulty in being confined to a small canvas .

Much later I went to college and studied Fashion Design and from there was offered a place at 'The London College of Art' which I declined having absolutely no wish to move to the metropolis - I loved Cornwall too much to ever leave.

I joined my Fathers firm as his secretary and was probably the worst secretary ever, but it did give me time for sketching, a lot!
In 1970 I met and married my husband Robin, a research engineer turned chef, who had a restaurant in St.Ives. No more time for sketching but it was a great time. We had children and then took The Badger Inn at Lelant, near St.Ives and  spent the next 30 years there, retiring in 2005.

Retirement was not too good for me, too much time and not enough to do, so a friend suggested I contact  Doris Lindemann at the Ultramarine Studio  in St Ives. I did and have been painting in earnest ever since,
